2008 Winter Trial!
Rivanna Schutzhund and Police Club will hold our 2008 Winter trial February 8-10 with SV judge Helmut Rueppell.  Click the link above to get the trial flyer and entry form.  The trial is hosted by Schutzhund Village at Newstead Farm.

Judge's Dinner!  We will be holding the judge's dinner at the Newstead guesthouse Saturday evening.  Competitors, spectators, and friends are all welcome.  Reservations are required.  Our dinners are a not-to-be-missed part of the weekend—you don't want to miss this one!

Tentative Schedule!  If possible, we plan to judge all dogs on Saturday and Sunday.  We will meet for tracking at first light.  Given the uncertainty of the weather in February, the trial chairman may adjust the schedule to insure the best possible conditions for all the dogs.

Reminder!  Under the new rules, first time handlers in the BH must pass a written test.  Handlers who have previously shown a dog do not have to take the test.  The test is posted on the USA Web Site a day or two before the trial.
In order to be permitted to show for a BH without taking the test a handler must present a scorebook for a dog he or she has handled in a BH, or a USA BH Examination Certificate.
Take a look at the USA Trial Info page to review the current requirements for entering a USA trial.  In particular, take note of the scorebook and membership requirements.  Please also note that all registered dogs must be identified by a tattoo or microchip.  The handler is responsible for providing a microchip reader for his/her dog.

Parking!  Spectators should not bring dogs.  Spectators with dogs will not be permitted to park near the trial or tracking fields.  Only dogs who are entered in the trial are allowed in the areas adjacent to the trial and tracking fields.

RSPC will host a dinner with Herr Rueppell Saturday evening, February 9, at the guesthouse at the entrance to Newstead Farm.  The details are not completely worked out.
